Last week I visited The New Craftsman in Mayfair. It has been transformed for Christmas into the most magical space. A wonderful winter woodland. You can see all the wonderful treats to buy including the wonderful spinner sculpture by William Waterhouse along with his toy hogs and my cushions and our collaborative piece The Cherrydaybed.
Louisa was formally trained as a painter at Wimbledon school of Art, through her painting she pursues harmony of line, form and composition; all elements that influenced her current range of fabric designs. Taking inspiration from the traditional craft of block printing, one of the oldest methods of printing. Louisa uses simple geometric form and shape, embracing the nuances and subtle variation the process of block printing offers. Her patterns are finished with flecks of colour painted by hand.
