Tidal Quilt | Charcoal
Hand block printed in my studio in Peckham, London, onto a soft natural linen. The reverse of the quilt is a wonderful mustard yellow linen.
Each of my quilts are one off peices.
Composition: Natural Linen
Inner: Organic cotton wadding
Size: aprox 150cm x 200cm
Care: Careful hand wash, using a mild soap.
Louisa was formally trained as a painter at Wimbledon school of Art, through her painting she pursues harmony of line, form and composition; all elements that influenced her current range of fabric designs. Taking inspiration from the traditional craft of block printing, one of the oldest methods of printing. Louisa uses simple geometric form and shape, embracing the nuances and subtle variation the process of block printing offers. Her patterns are finished with flecks of colour painted by hand.
